Here I talked what kind of shoes I was looking for and here I talked about wanting orange shoes.  :]  Well, the whole pretty satin orange shoes with not too much heel and the right amount of bling didn't quite pan out.  But it's okay.  I probably would not have worn the orange bling shoes again very often and... that seems to be the case for the ones that I got, so it's all the same.  :-P

So under the advice of a few people that DSW changes their shoe selection often, I went back to see if they had better selections.

I again found the Caparros Armani 2 Satin in silver that I saw last time.  I think I might've tried it on again and liked the height of the heel.  So I went online to DSW and looked for them in white!  And they had them!  So I ordered them and they arrived at my house.

I got my satin, a little bit of bling, and a very good height on the heels.  And.  No one will care they're not orange except for me.  Well, except my mom.  She didn't like the orange heels idea.  :-P

Too bad they weren't cheaper since they're sitting in their box back home, 3000 miles away.  Perhaps when I visit, I can bring them and maybe find a use for them.  Wear them around the house?  :oP

I read Miss Trail Mix's blog post yesterday and it was about her making a basket for flip flops for the reception. And I kinda laughed out loud afterwards cause I thought if we put out a basket of FREE flip flops all the Chinese people would take them, even if they weren't gonna change out of their high heels. :oP


I have recently been introduced to shoe clips through the wedding world, most notably from Miss Sewing, lately. I've never ever considered them. But I haven't seen anything I've really like lately, shoe wise, so I may have to buy a plainer pair and dress 'em up. Today I bought a pair of "back up shoes" that are rather plain, and more strappy than I like. Like, I'd rather have more of shoe that has more fabric around.  So like a peep toe front, and either a full back heel part, or at least a strap to hold it in place, cause I don't want to deal with losing a shoe on my weddin day!

LOVE these.  They're dyed shoes with shoe clips, so I theoretically could get them in orange!  :]  The shoe, before it's dyed is $50 though.  So plus dye and the shoe clip could get a little pricey for shoes.  (Shoes aren't a super priority for me.)  (Source)

And while browsing Esty today, I found these pretty shoe clips...

Except I wouldn't get them cause I don't think I wanna do the flower thing.  I wanna sparkle?  haha.  (Plus, it's $25 + $8 S&H, definitely more than I wanna spend on shoe clips).  But out of alllll the ones I saw on Esty, I really liked this one.  It's so delicate and wispy looking  :]  (Source)

And on a side note, RSVPs are already rolling in!!  Wheeeee!  People who RSVP early are awesome.  HAHA.  :-P  Most mailed invites are out already.  Mailed out the Ithaca peeps today.  Still have those 20 invites I mentioned last time to relatives and assorted international people.  But I finally got more ribbon from Michaels today, so they should be going out in the next few days.  :]  Yay!  I feel accomplished.  :-P  And a lot of work went into the invites in terms of design, printing (the stress of it?), troubleshooting, assembling, so it's like... a double accomplishment.  :-P  AND... it's like the official thing to invite people to the wedding!  :]

Is it weird that I still have a couple people that are still pending on the invite list?  Mostly people I don't want to invite but worry about... backlash feelings.  Blah.  And sometimes it's not something the "ditch" effort can solve with, "Oh, I'm leaving [town] so I don't have to deal with them" but my parents are still here, and I will return eventually.  :oT  So... they're not easy clear cut to-chop-or-not-chop people.

Anyway.  So.  Have you RSVP yet?  :oP

Is March not bridal season or something?  Today I went to San Francisco's Downtown Macys.  Which is like.  Shoes galore.  Practically a whole entire floor for shoes.  But guess what?  I couldn't find a single pair I remotely liked!  NONSENSE.  And I don't think I'm even that picky.  They hardly had any white/ivory/bridal-looking shoes at all.  And when I asked a salesperson or two, they're like, "Nope we don't have bridal shoes.  Maybe try Nordstorm."  It's never good when they start referring you to their competitors.  o_O  So I made like 4 rounds around the shoes departmet, considered silver, charcoal, gold, but nothing worked.  Nothing in orange that wasn't patent-leather shiny either.  :(  Overall, it was a very disappointing shoe trip to what I thought would be the mother load shoe store.  Guess I will have to keep trying.  I NEED to get shoes because I take my dress in for alterations and yah... time's a ticking and them three months are countin' down!

So I went to go look at boots instead.  :-P  They were having a big sale!  I don't own any boots, and I believe it is one "accessory" that prevents me from looking somewhat-grown up during winter months when it's sometimes too cold to wear flats.  Found a black pair I really liked but it was too big.  :(  Too bad.  But yeah, there's a boot sale at Macy's if you're interested.  (Oh, and I just found out there's a shoe sale at Nordstorm as well.)

In terms of productive good things, I put down the deposit for flowers!  So that's done.  :]  I also got in contact with my MOH's make up artist (MUA).  I didn't love her work when I was my MOH's bridesmaid, but I think we turned out alright in the pictures.  Now she's even offering airbrushing, and her rates are butt kicking affordable, so... I'm game. :oT  It's like paying for the price of one person that other MUAs charge, but getting four faces done.  :oT  I will chalk it up to a good deal and be done with it. 

I ALSO put 10 invites in the mail.  :-P  Wanted to make sure they traveled through our delightful USPS system okay before I send out all of them.

I will probably tie more ribbons today, stuff more invites, and go shred in a little bit.  :]

OH.  I discovered that I really like making cupcakes, and just added two cupcake pans to our registry.  haha  :]  (Cupcakes FOR other people.  Cause otherwise they're counterproductive to shredding  :oP)

So the other day I went to DSW to see if they had any bridal looking shoes.  There was not a single white/ivory pair of shoes ANYWHERE.  The closest I got was silver.  I did find a pair I liked.  See.

Caparros Armani 2 Satin Pump  (Link)  I also figured that the chances of me wearing silver shoes again would be much higher than white ones!  If you search for Caparros on the DWS website, there are a lot more white/bridal-y shoe selections.  I guess maybe the store hasn't transitioned from their winter line yet.

At $20 and dyeable that seems very budget friendly.  :)  These would be more for like... the reception?  They're pretty low.  Like classier than Old Navy flip flops sandals...  They also have a few other higher heeled options at Payless.   (Source)

Cole Haan "Ceci Air Mid Pump."  I don't know why but I really like these!  They're so satin-y and round and perfect.  And you can definitely dress it up with a clip at the front or something.  Just very classic looking I guess (though a little plain).  :)  And guess what... it has Nike air comfort features.  haha.  (Source)

So yeah... I guess I'm gonna go see if Macy has anything and maybe Nordstorm.  Like I wanna be comfortable and classy, whether they are white, ivory, silver or orange.  But at the same time, shoes are definitely not a priority for me.  In terms of spending hundreds of dollars on them.  I could switch to some nice sandals or even a high-flip flop... cause really, who's gonna see under that dress... but I'd like to find a pair that's comfortable for the whole occasion!  I guess we'll see.

So what do you think?  Should I go with orange heels?  That might or might not peek out from time to time under the wedding dress?  ;)
